6/1/14: Cameron sees both Matt and I working at home a lot, so I think he’s starting to get the idea the work requires a computer; however in this picture it looks more like he’s standing up playing the piano.

But with a little guidance I got him all set up on his mini-desk…

However at the end of of busy day of ‘work’, nothing is better than snuggling up with daddy!

6/3/14: In our adventures to go to lots of different parks, we ended up at one that didn’t have “baby” swings so Cameron got to do the big boy swing. He did so good and loved it, though obviously I didn’t push him too high.

6/3/14: Just to keep things real- Cameron does cause his share of trouble. In this case, he got the sharpie marker that mommy had mistakenly left on the table. He decorated the couch in beautiful scribbles. After a quick goggle search I found that a little hydrogen peroxide would get it out- success! If you need any help bringing new life to an old sofa, just invite Cameron over and give him a sharpie!

6/5/14: In a rare occurrence, Matt and I used the end of a weekday to enjoy a quick daytime date while Cameron was still at daycare. We checked out Resurgence Brewery, a local brewery that had opened up that day, sharing a flight and some tasty pretzels.

IMG_2617

6/6/14: Cameron had his ear checkup today, so to celebrate a good visit we picked up a Paula’s Donut on the way home. We don’t always do treats after the doctors, but sometimes it is nice to enjoy a treat when he has been so good letting the doctor look in his ears without a fight.

Then we spent the afternoon browsing car magazines…

IMG_2619

…and then we took a nice stroller walk only this time Cameron wanted to help push it along the sidewalks.

IMG_2622

6/7/14: No matter how much Cameron has grown, it’s always nice to know that he finds comfort in our arms feeling safe enough to fall fast asleep. He’s still our little baby even though he continues to grow into an independent little boy.

IMG_2625

6/10/14: During one of our longer distance walks, Cameron and I headed over to a local school to check out the playground. This playground was equipped with swings that were very unusual for us to come across…and Cameron loved swinging in them because they were like riding the rocket ship on Little Einsteins.

IMG_2631

6/11/14: During today’s garden watering and monitoring – we found our first blossom of the year! That means that this year we will likely see zucchini plants, whereas the previous year we didn’t have much luck. Cameron is definitely taking in interest in the garden this year, though that might be because he gets to play with water and dirt.

IMG_2633

6/13/14: Our grocery store is located right next a school with a fun playground, so when the weather is nice and there is time we try to include a stop there before we do the shopping. There is lots to climb on and slide down at this playground!

IMG_2643

6/14/14: Mommy pretty much wears flip flops whenever possible once the temperature reaches the 60’s, so Cameron has definitely taken notice of them. He’ll often steal them from me when we are at home to try them out for himself.

IMG_2648

6/15/14: Happy Father’s Day! My two boys dressed up for a relaxing day at home…

IMG_2654

Though Daddy doesn’t get relieved of all duties, as Cameron passes his cup through the window for a beverage refill. I guess you could say we operate a full-service drive-thru at our kitchen window.

IMG_2656

Then like any busy guy, Cameron prepares for the week ahead by doing some last minute work at the computer – with his tongue out to indicate he is really concentrating.

IMG_2658

6/16/14: After our walk home from school, we enjoyed an apple in the backyard. Mommy chooses to head outside with the apple because the weather is beautiful and it keeps the sticky mess outside!

IMG_2661

6/18/14: Family selfie! Yes we are inside so sunglasses are not necessary; however Cameron is just that cool that he “wears his sunglasses at night”.

IMG_2667

6/19/14: Matt has started playing lacrosse again in the evenings, so I decided to take Cameron along one night to check it out. There is a playground nearby that we can walk to, so it is a fun filled night. Before heading to the playground, Cameron practiced wearing the helmet around the field with his stick.

IMG_2668

Cameron also did some chasing of the ball. We are excited to get him involved with a local league for toddlers just as soon as he is 3! Until then he’ll just be on the sidelines.

IMG_2671

6/21/14: These two Reis boys are good sleepers! Cameron was going through a sleep transition, which is why he ended up in our bed during this rough night. I got up after I couldn’t deal with being nudged out of the bed by Cameron, only to find that not only are these two spitting images of each other but they also sleep the same!

IMG_2673

6/22/13: Our big project this summer is to finally get our three-season room completed so we can enjoy it before summer ends and during the fall, but with a little guy underfoot house projects are harder to do together. Most of the time it is a solo job for dad with me taking care of Cameron. On this day we were playing in the backyard near his pool when he jumped right in with all his clothes on! So I seized the moment, grabbed a chair, and relaxed poolside.

IMG_2676

Cameron loves to float on his belly and I’m sure his diaper helps to keep him buoyant!

IMG_2679

After a day of working on the three season room and playing in the pool, we took a walk down to the ice cream shop for an ice cream cone. Normally I share with Cameron; however it appears that Cameron is now able to handle ice cream cones all on his own.

IMG_2681

6/23/14: Today was member appreciation night at the zoo, so after school and work we pick up some sandwiches for dinner and walked to the park to have a picnic before heading into the zoo. Once in the zoo we were sure to take advantage of the free carousel rides.

IMG_2688

We attempted to let him enjoy a ride on the train; however this time he wasn’t so willing to go alone. So there is no picture of the adventure on the train because mommy had to find a way to squeeze inside the little car full of little ones; even though I’m sure he wanted to be somewhere else we completed the ride with tears most of the way.

After that bad experience, we switched gears and headed to check out the animals and climb on some of the statues including this lucky little turtle in the play area.

IMG_2693

Daddy and Cameron also found a piggy in the farm yard to ride together.

IMG_2697

6/27/14: Today I was trying out a recipe with marshmallows that didn’t go as planned so I decided to improvise and turned it into s’mores, and Cameron got to taste his first s’mores. Verdict: delicious!

IMG_2698

6/29/14: Cameron’s Grandma and Grandpa Reis got Cameron a kid lawn mower for Easter this year, and it is literally the loudest toy ever! They’d agree with that statement as well, and even hid it from him when they were watching him since it gets to be too much- now it’s specifically an outdoor toy. On this day he decided to follow daddy while he was mowing the lawn, which looks like a pleasant experience right?

IMG_2707

Not so much. The whole time he was crying because he wanted to be right next to daddy or in front of him- either way he was not happy.

Up next is July 2014!
